主要从事有机/无机半导体光催化材料的设计、合成及其在能源和环境光催化领域中的应用。2008年组建福州大学-马普胶体与界面研究所国际联合实验室(FZU-MPI International Joint Laboratory),开展人工光合成的化学基础与应用研究。到目前为止,已经发表SCI国际论文78篇,其中包括1篇Nature Materials、6篇Journal of the American Chemical Society、6篇Angew Chem Int Edit、3篇Advanced Materials。论文他引次数超过2000次,H指数为29。2007年入选“教育部新世纪优秀人才支持计划”。
