因为初学VASP所以说明书没有看透。又看了一遍,关于SIGMA的说明书上如是说:Too large smearing-parameters might result in a wrong total energy ,small smearing parameters require large k-point mesh.SIGMA should be as large as possible keeping the difference between the free energy and the total energy in the OUTCAR negligible(1meV) 其他一些手册上有说SIGMA测试的范围为0.1-0.3eV
VASP说明书中说SIGMA越大越好。但是要保证free energy 和total energy 的差小于1meV/atom,这也就是它的测试标准
不是的,sigma的值越小,你可以保证你的展开和dela函数越接近。 所以理论上说越小越好。
一般保证free energy 和total energy 的差小于1meV/atom就可以了。
比如金属的sigma 取0.1-0.2就可以了。(当然也要看你算什么性质,表面反应用0.1就足够了)
