Working Title: Postdoctoral Associate

Position Summary:        
A post doctoral position is available in the Computational Design of Hybrid Materials (CDHM) group in the Department of Chemical Engineering, Virginia Tech (Blacksburg, VA, USA). The research will be focused on the development and application of atomistic and meso-scale models, in combination with high-performance computing, to understand and design materials for energy applications. Specifically, the thrust of the research will be on the development of new force-field parameters for materials and employ these new parameters to study their structural, dynamical, and separation properties.

The position will initially be for one year but can be extended up to two years based on performance of the individual and upon mutual agreement.

Required Qualifications:        
- PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or closely related field
- Strong background in molecular dynamics (MD) and/or coarse-grained MD
- Profound knowledge in MD simulation software (LAMMPS, NAMD, AMBER, etc.)
- Machine learning, Optimization algorithms
- Strong track record of scientific productivity as well as experience in managing several projects simultaneously
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in collaboration
