本书是黄克孙先生的《统计力学》，是一本比较好的统计物理教材。

作者介绍：黄克孙（英文名：Kerson Huang，1928年3月15日－2016年9月1日），生于中国广西南宁，在菲律宾马尼拉长大。美籍华裔物理学家、翻译家，曾任麻省理工学院物理学教授，出版统计力学的著作。他是美国物理学会会员和美国艺术与科学院院士。对华文读者来说，黄克孙最有名的是把波斯诗人欧玛尔·海亚姆的《鲁拜集》翻译成中文。黄克孙在成为物理系研究生时，根据爱德华·菲兹杰拉德的英文译本将《鲁拜集》译成七言诗。《鲁拜集》于多年前绝版，后于1989年在台湾再版。他亦与妻子一起将《易经》翻译成英文，该书于1984年出版。
