[System and Software Security] CactiLab PhD positions at University at Buffalo

My name is Ziming Zhao (https://zzm7000.github.io/). I am an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at University at Buffalo. I am looking for PhD students who are interested in system security and software security to join my CyberspACe securiTy and forensIcs lab (CactiLab, https://cactilab.github.io/) Spring 2021 or Fall 2021. Students interested in security from Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or other related disciplines are encouraged to apply. PhD students at this position will receive competitive stipends and full tuition waivers.
My research interests lie primarily in hardware-assisted security, system security and software security. My team has published extensively in the aforementioned areas as well as in network security, usable security and threat intelligence analytics in top-tier security conferences and journals, including IEEE S&P, USENIX Security, CCS, NDSS, MobiSys, ACSAC, ESORICS, TISSEC, etc. If you are interested in the position, please feel free to contact me at zimingzh@buffalo.edu.
Self-motivated students with good programming skills and solid background in ANY of the following areas are an excellent fit to the CactiLab:
ARM TrustZone (Cortex-A/Cortex-M); Trusted Platform Module; Intel SGX (Assembly, C, etc.)
Program analysis and compiler (LLVM, etc.)
Operating systems; Linux kernel development; Mbed; RTOS (Assembly, C, etc.)
Hypervisor (Assembly, C, etc.)
FPGA design and development (OpenCL, VHDL, Verilog, etc.)
Android framework and kernel (Java, C, C++, etc.)
