[postdoc] in intervertebral disc de- and re-generation

introduction
the division of spinal surgery at the university hospital basel in switzerland is currently seeking a postdoctoral fellow to work in and in collaboration with the laboratory for tissue engineering in the area of intervertebral disc de- and re-generation.



the project aims at establishing the scientific basis towards novel treatment strategies for in-tervertebral disc degeneration. the group of prof. ivan martin is preparing preclinical and clin-ical trials for the treatment of intervertebral disc degeneration using nasal chondrocytes. the candidate, with a phd in life sciences/bioengineering, will investigate cellular attributes and/or bioactive agents counteracting inflammatory/degenerative processes, using human tissue-derived cells and models to assist in the implementation of the planned trials.

your profile
0-4 years postdoctoral experience

a strong background in developmental biology, musculoskeletal diseases, and direct experience with bioreactors are an asset

experience in tissue engineering/regenerative medicine/3d models is a plus, but not imperative

excellent communication, writing and presentation skills

outstanding motivation and capacity to work in interdisciplinary teams

supervising skills (for master students, mds and phd students)
