A PhD position (with salary level of 0.5x TV-L13) is available in the institute of micro- and nanotechnologies at TU Ilmenau. The topic is about synthesis of metallic nanoalloys or metallic nanoframes and quantum dots (QD) and investigation of their optical properties.
Potential candidates must have an excellent Master degree in physics, Chemistry or materials science, and should have solid knowledges and experiences on synthesis of nanoalloys or metallic frame and quantum dots, materials characterization and investigation of the optical properties. In addition, the candidate should also have the experience with FDTD simulation. Beyond the passion for and experience in research, we expect good language and communication skills in English, flexibility, focused research and the readiness to take the extra step of an interdisciplinary approach towards a PhD.
