Associate Scientist of Immuno-Oncology, Shanghai
Job information
Title:    Associate Scientist / Senior Associate Scientist
Field:    Immuno-Oncology / Immuno-Pharmacology

Department:    Discovery Biology

General job accountability
Develop and conduct cell or biochemical based assays to support oncology  
drug discovery. Work with the team members to meet project timeline. Carry  
out bench-work experiments in cell biology and molecular biology. (80%)
Participate in experimental design. Make recommendations/decisions for  
changes in experimental procedures that improve quality or productivity of  
the results. Read published literatures relevant to the work and propose new  
ideas/solutions. Coordinate and plan the work with different internal or  
external functional groups. (10%)

Maintain an up-to-date laboratory notebook that records experimental methods,
materials and results. Keep supervisor and project team informed on current  
status of work. Prepare presentations to show work being conducted on  
project or group meetings. Train other laboratory personnel on experimental  
SOP. Assist to establish the molecular and cell biology labs. Understand and  
be responsible for the proper use and maintenance of laboratory equipment. (
10%)

Qualification and competency requirements

Education / training background
Candidate should have a Bachelor/Master degree in immunology, biology,  
pharmacology or a related field. Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech or  
CRO companies is a plus.

Knowledge / Skills
Understanding of fundamental immunology, cancer biology or antibody drug  
discovery. Experience of cell based or antibody related assays is a plus.
Proficient in molecular and cell biology experiments, such as proliferation,  
apoptosis, reporter gene, T cell stimulation, mixed lymphocyte reaction,  
cytokine release assays etc.
Familiar with multi-color flow cytometry, qRT-PCR, ELISA, SDS PAGE, stable  
cell line generation techniques.

Others
Good experimental planning and execution skills in order to meet deadlines  
and to handle multi tasks.
Be capable of learning new scientific knowledge and experimental techniques  
quickly.
Strong aspiration for drug discovery work, diligent, self-motivated,  
independent, strong sense of responsibility.
Be able to record and present results in both Chinese and English.
Effective collaboration with colleagues and partners.
