Postdoctoral Position in Clinical Translational Cancer Research

Work Locations: Guangzhou and London

We seek a PhD Graduate for a 3-year full-time Postdoctoral Research position at the Affiliated Cancer Hospital & Institute, Guangzhou Medical University in Guangzhou, China. There is an opportunity to visit Dr Teh's laboratory at Queen Mary University of London for training. The post-holder will work on a clinical translational project aiming to develop a “Digital Cancer Test” based on gene expression biomarkers selected from transcriptomic data for clinical use. The post holder should be fluent in English (IELTS results at least 6.5) and able to write grant applications in Mandarin Chinese. We are seeking a highly self-motivated, enthusiastic scientist who are able to work alone as well as collaboratively, and have demonstrable evidence of effective communication of scientific ideas. The team leader will provide training to the post holder on clinical specimens handling, storage, archiving, nucleic acids extraction, RT-qPCR, multichannel pipettes liquid handling and 384-well format workflow. 1996年获得伦敦大学国王学院本科生物医学学士学位和随后分子生理学博士位。自2000年一直从事细胞与分子生物研究。2005年始在伦敦大学玛丽女王学院从事博士生导师，硕士生导师。主要从事口腔医学专业学生的教学和科研工作。主讲本科生，硕士研究生及博士研究生的《分子生物学》等课程，至今已发表影响因子5.0以上的论文50余篇，其中包括《Nature Genetics》一篇、《Cancer Research》三篇、《Am. J. of Hum. Genet.》、《J. Cell Sci.》、《Int. J. Cancer Research》、《Molecular Cancer》、《Cancer》、《J Invest. Dermatology》、《Cell Death Dis.》等。重点研究方向在FOXM1基因的干细胞调节和致癌分子机制。其FOXM1研究获取“2010年度分子”奖。随后转化为世界第一用于FOXM1机构的肿瘤指数诊断系统《qMIDS》。2017年个人专家指数H-Index = 25，i10-Index = 37。现任英国高等教育学院院士委《Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy》。现任二十余有关头颈，口腔和分子研究专业杂志的编委，其中包括《PLoS ONE》、《Frontiers in Cancer Endocrinology》、《SRL Stem Cell & Research》、《SM Journal of Stem Cell Research》、《J.
