Wenyuan Tang is an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at North Carolina State University. He is looking for highly motivated and talented Ph.D. students and postdocs starting in Spring 2018 or Fall 2018. His research focuses on power system economics. Sample topics include: economic modeling and data analytics of electricity markets; game-theoretic analysis and design of market mechanisms; control and optimization for the evolving smart grid; statistical learning, forecasting, and financial trading; energy systems and policy.

Qualified students may have a solid mathematical background, and experience and interests in one or more of the following areas: power systems, control, optimization, machine learning, cyber-physical systems, and game theory.
