We are currently looking for Ph.D students to join our dynamic and fast growing group at ASU. Ideal candidates should have a B.S. or M.S. degree in electrical engineering, engineering physics, optical engineering, semiconductors, materials science or any related area. Prof. Yuji Zhao is the director of the ASU MOCVD lab, which is a $2M USD facility effort initiated by Fulton School of Engineering. Prof. Zhao received the B.S. degree in Microelectronics from Fudan University, China in 2008, and the Ph.D degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) in 2012, after Nobel Laureate Professor Shuji Nakamura. Since joined ASU in August 2014, Prof. Zhao has received 2016 DTRA Young Investigator Award, 2015 NASA Early Career Faculty Award 2015, and Bisgrove Scholar Faculty Award. Prof. Zhao’s research focused on GaN materials and devices including LEDs, lasers, solar cells, and power transistors.
