PhD positions are available in the area of advanced laser manufacturing in Fall 2017 in Prof. Xin Zhao’s group.

The major research areas include:
- ultrashort laser-matter interaction,
- laser-induced plasma dynamics,
- micro/nano-scale laser material processing (nano-scale 3D printing, laser shock peening, glass processing, surface texturing),
- LIBS, etc.

Students with strong theoretical or/and experimental backgrounds in optics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and solid physics are preferred.
RA positions will be provided to suitable candidates.
