The focuses of these positions are:
1) metabolic engineering of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) for biochemicals production;
2) the minimal functional genome of LAB;
3) microcompartment-technology in LAB;
4) phage-resistance;
5) development of next-generation genome engieering tools;
6) reconstruction of the functional TCA cycle.
