PhD Student Position in Mechanical Behavior of Structural Materials at the City University of Hong Kong

A PhD student position is available in Fall 2017 in the Department of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering at the City University of Hong Kong with research direction of Materials Science and/or Biomechanics. Requirements:
•        B.S. or M.S. in Materials Science, Engineering Mechanics, Applied Physics, Thermal Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry and other related engineering and scientific fields.
•        An overall GPA not less than 80/100 for the top 985 universities, 82.5/100 for 985 universities, 85/100 for 211 universities. (不包括政治和体育类课程 )
•        Fulfill the language requirement: a minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based) or 213 (computer-based) or 79 (internet-based) is required; or an overall band score of 6.5 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), or College English Test Band 6 score no less than 490.

Additional information:
•        Monthly Stipend: 15900 HKD;
•        The candidate is expected to work on research topics such as: biomaterials, biomechanics, bio-mimetic design, 3D-printing of novel structures, nanocomposites, nano-materials and nano-mechanics;
