Graduate Student Position in Chemical Biology at Georgia State University in Atlanta, USA

Positions for Ph.D. level graduate students are available in Professor Jun Yin’s lab at the Department of Chemistry, and the Center for Diagnostics and Therapeutics of the Georgia State University in Atlanta, USA. The graduate students will be supported with an annual stipend of $25,000 with waived tuition. Funds for the graduate students are provided by the NSF and NIH grants of the Yin lab. For Ph.D. study, students will use a combined approach of protein engineering, organic synthesis, proteomics, and molecular and cell biology to elucidate the mechanisms of ubiquitin mediated cell signaling. The projects in the lab will enable the students to develop strong skills in the broad areas of chemical biology to study signal transduction pathways in the cell. Applicants with B.S. or M.S. degrees in organic or biological chemistry, biotechnology, molecular or cell biology are encouraged to apply. International applicants for the Ph.D. program need to have satisfactory TOEFL and GRE scores.
