Emerging Sources Citation Index是个什么鬼
最近收到封邮件，内容如下：
I am writing to invite you to submit an article to Advances in Fuzzy Systems, which is a peer-reviewed, open access journal that publishes original research articles as well as review articles related to all aspects of the theory and applications of fuzzy subsets and systems. The journal has recently been accepted for coverage in the Emerging Sources Citation Index, which is a new edition of the Web of Science that is launching in November 2015. This means that any articles published in the journal will be indexed in the Web of Science at the time of publication.
想问一下，这个ESCI是个什么鬼，跟SCI有什么关系。

Hindawi旗下的吧，我也收到了，不过是另一个杂志。这个出版社的确不靠谱。
搜了一下官方文件，看到下面的话： Journals in ESCI have
passed an initial editorial evaluation and continue to be
considered for inclusion in products such as SCIE, SSCI,
and AHCI, which have rigorous evaluation processes and
selection criteria.
所以esci不是sci，比sci差，应该没有影响因子，大家不要上当了。

Emerging Sources Citation Index貌似是THOMSON REUTERS的新版Web of Science，是一种新源索引，应该是顺应网络时代的发展而推出的。Hindawi旗下有些期刊还是可以的，不能一棒子打死一片，如旗下的ADVANCES IN MATERIALS SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING 早就被THOMSON REUTERS SCI索引。
奇怪啊，用Web of Science 数据库的确可以检索到
对啊，现在不知道esci到底算不算sci
想问一下ESCI的期刊被SCI收录的希望有多大？需要多长时间？
