We have completed a preliminary assessment of your submission. The work is useful, but it is essentially a routine microstructural characterisation and does not reveal significantly novel phenomena.

Scripta Materialia publishes a limited number of papers which we believe are of generic interest to the readers of the journal, and which are likely to represent significant advances in the field.

While your submission may be of a high quality, we unfortunately do not feel that it is appropriate for Scripta and recommend that you send it to another journal where it may have a greater impact.
