My name is Tao CHEN, and I am a master student majoring in physics in both undergraduate period (2005-2009) and postgraduate period (2009-2012). In addition, I had been a research assistant in biophysics/Neuroscience in the last two years (2012-2012). I am proficient in computer simulation, theoretical analysis, and English. I hope that I am able to find a PhD position in mixture of theoretical analysis and the corresponding experiments in biophysics, neuroscience or computational physics.

My basic information

Publications
Z.-G. Shao and T. Chen, Game of Life on the Equal Degree Random Lattice, J. Stat. Phys., 141, 952-956 (2010). (This paper investigates the game of life on the equal degree random lattice by means of Monte Carlo simulation and mean-field approach)

T. Chen and Z.-G. Shao, Power-law accelerating growth complex networks with mixed attachment mechanisms, Physica A 391, 2778-2787 (2012). (This paper is an extension of the previously proposed network models by means of mean-field approach. This paper obtained the analytical expression of the degree distribution of the network model, and discussed the influence of the model parameters on the curves of degree distributions).

Z.-G. Shao, T. Chen, and B. Ai, Growing networks with temporal effect and mixed attachment mechanisms, Physica A 413, 147-152 (2014). (Based on the method proposed in the second paper, this paper obtained the analytical expression of the degree distribution of the network model by taking into account the fitness (a temporal factor) in the preferential attachment, and continued to discuss the effect of the model parameters on the curves of degree distributions).

Research Projects Involved

The Startup Fund of South China Normal University (Grant No: S53003) (I mainly took charge of the theoretical analysis and numerical simulation).

The Grant of the Foundation for Young Talents in Higher Education of Guangdong Province, China (Grant No: LYM10065).

The Grant of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (Grant No: 11105054) (I took charge of the numerical simulations and the writing of the papers).
