As an independent corporation under public law, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) combines the tasks of a university of the state of Baden-Württemberg and a national research cen- ter in the Helmholtz Association. KIT combines its three strategic fields of research, teaching, and innovation into one mission. With about 9400 employees and almost 24500 students, KIT is one of Europe\\\'s major research and teaching institutions in the natural sciences and engineering.
For our Institute for Meteorology and Climate Research - Atmospheric Environmental Re- search (IMK-IFU), KIT-Campus Alpin in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, we are looking for a

The job involves, depending on qualifications and interest, either developing event-based regionalized climate simulations using the WRF climate model for coastal megacities in China or deriving modi- fied boundary conditions for WRF using statistical pseudo-global warming (PGW) approach from a multi-model multi-scenario ensemble.
You provide:
• Science degree, preferably meteorology, hydrology, physics, mathematics, physical geogra- phy/environmental sciences with an above average degree
• Experience with numerical simulation models, preferably regional climate model
• Programming experience (e.g. Fortran, Python, Matlab, Julia, R)
• Experience in handling large data sets
• Knowledge of extreme value statistics, bias correction and statistical downscaling
• Language skills: English (German is an advantage)
The call is still subject to the final approval of the project. Applications (incl. motivation letter, CV, references, certificates) should be sent immediately by e-mail to Dr. Patrick Laux (patrick.laux(at)kit.edu).
