One Graduate Assistant Position is immediately available in the Department of Chemical, Biomolecular and Corrosion Engineering at the University of Akron. We are now looking for one highly motivated PhD student dedicated to the cutting-edge research in catalysis, electrochemistry, and alternative energy. The lab focuses on study and development of advanced materials useful as catalysts for energy-related processes and new electrochemical applications, including fuel cell reactions, water electrolysis, water desalination, and C1 chemicals conversion. The candidate will be trained based on his/her own research interests and multidisciplinarily in chemical reaction engineering, materials chemistry, and catalytic science.

Desired starting date: September 2021
Basic requirements:
Master or Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science or other related majors;
Strong interests and high motivation in catalysis and reaction engineering research;
Good GPA;
GRE (waivable), >79 TOEFL (or >6.5 IELTS) scores;
Priority will be given to candidates familiar with catalysis or electrochemistry, and/or having demonstrated research experience.
