pH is measured in soil water suspension. During pH measurement , the soil particles should be kept in suspension by stirring just before dipping the electrode. Actually what we are measuring is the concentration/ activity of H+ ions present in soluble form( soil solution phase) and those H+ ions dissociated from soil particle surfaces (from the exchange sites of soil particles).The H+ concentration/activity in soil-water suspension decreases with increasing dilution of the suspension and , hence, the measured pH increases.That means the wider the soil : water ratio, the higher will be the measured pH.

学习了学习了,一直做水质的ph检测,也帮别人做过土壤的ph检测,但当时只是按照他们给的操作方法和实验室合适的ph传感器做了,没考虑过原理的事情,当时也问了大家为啥非要特定的比例用去离子水稀释,大家都是说标准就那么规定的,今天才明白。
