Dear Dr. Zhao:

Your revised manuscript can be accepted for publication in Applied Optics provided that you address the remaining reviewer concerns.

It is the policy of Applied Optics to allow only one revision. However, I have made an exception because your paper is nearly acceptable for publication and the required modifications are minimal. Please respond carefully to the remaining points indicated. Note any changes that have been made to the manuscript and their location within the text in your response. You will upload your response letter in the online system. Of course, you may not agree with every point; in this case, your responses and reasoning should be clearly presented. Please note that a response letter is required before a final manuscript decision can be made.

The journal staff has reviewed your manuscript to ensure that it adheres to the style guidelines of Applied Optics.  The notes below will advise you of any required format changes.

Revised manuscripts are generally due within 14 days; however, we recognize that our editors, authors, and reviewers are dealing with disruption and delays due to COVID-19. Please let us know if you need more time to complete revisions and we will do our best to keep the publishing process moving smoothly.

Please complete your resubmission with content and style changes via the Applied Optics online system at
https://prism.osapublishing.org/Author

Be sure to upload the native file, such as Word with embedded figures, or zipped TeX with .eps or .pdf figures. If uploading your revision in Word format you will also be given the opportunity to upload the source files of your artwork in eps, pdf or tiff format.  For more information on preparing artwork please go to https://www.osapublishing.org/ao/submit/style/coloronline.cfm.

Thank you for your contribution to Applied Optics. If you have any questions, please contact the journal assistant at aomss@osa.org.

Wishing you good health during this difficult time.

Sincerely,

Caroline Lai
Topical Editor, Applied Optics

If authors wish to include an ORCID iD on the published PDF, then they must link their ORCID iD to their OSA account prior to acceptance; otherwise, it will not appear in the manuscript. This applies to the submitting author and all co-authors. To do this, the relevant author must click on the “Update Account” link on their Prism homepage or log-in directly to https://account.osa.org, then click the button “Create or Connect your ORCID iD” in the ORCID section of the Participation tab. If the ORCID window does not appear, then change your browser settings to enable pop-ups.

--------Reviewer Comments--------

--------Pre-Production Review--------

We estimate that your manuscript will be approximately 6 journal pages.  We will proceed with the understanding, according to your response in the submission process, that you have agreed to pay overlength charges at the rate of $300 per page exceeding ten pages in the final formatted paper.  Please contact us (aomss@osa.org) if you intend for your paper to not exceed ten pages. If using OSA’s universal template you may estimate a page count in final 2-column format by multiplying the total manuscript pages by 0.60. The exact page count will be determined after typesetting
