Description:

NUS Mechanical Engineering could support a CSC PhD student on the topic of porous materials. The main responsibility is to develop novel ceramic composites, polymers or porous metallic materials via advanced manufacturing processes. Previous research experience on powder processing, additive manufacturing or chemical synthesis for biological, acoustic or structural materials is required. The successful candidate needs to drive the research direction, conduct experiments, analyse results and publish scientific papers.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate should have relevant background in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, with demonstrated capabilities listed below:

--Freeze casting, additive manufacturing, chemical synthesis or powder processing;
--Materials development and characterisation for ceramic composites, polymers or porous alloys;
--Creative, self-motivated, and good communication skills;
--Publication experience.
