Prof. Chung is looking for highly motivated students who are interested in Internet security, privacy and measurement. Students interested in those areas can look over the research outcomes for better understanding at https://taejoong.github.io.
Self-motivated students or self-funded visiting scholars are always welcome to apply. The students will be supported by his two NSF grants. He is also a recipient of the IETF/IRTF Applied Networking Research Prize (2019), ACM IMC Distinguished Paper Award (2019), USENIX Security Distinguished Paper Award (2017), and Best Paper Award at IEEE Computer Society (ComSoc) Seoul Chapter (2010). Below are research items that I used to and currently focus on:
- Public Key Infrastructure (e.g., HTTPS, DANE, DNSSEC, RPKI) on the Internet.
- IoT device security.
- Privacy issues in online social networks (OSNs) using machine learning technique.
- Internet measurement (e.g., performance, net-neutrality, censorship)

I am part of the new Global Cybersecurity Institute (GCI) at RIT. GCI brings together a range of expertise from across RIT to understand and address real-world challenges in cybersecurity and to educate the next generation of cybersecurity experts.

THE COLLEGE:
The B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences is the largest of RIT’s nine colleges and has an enrollment of over 3,000 undergraduate students and 800 graduate students.
