What physical evidence do the authors have, beyond the Langmuir isotherm fits, that the uranyl is distributed as a "homogeneous monolayer"? Is there any spectroscopic or other evidence? I agree that the assumption of the Langmuir model, which was derived for gases, is a "homogeneous monolayer," but there is plenty of work to suggest that this assumption does not hold true in aqueous geochemical systems.
