research assistant/phd student positions at the department of chemistry, hong kong baptist university

applications are invited for research assistant/phd student positions in the laboratory of dr. matthew y. lui at the department of chemistry, hong kong baptist university (hkbu). the research assistant positions will be for 6-12 months, with a possibility of renewal, or with opportunities to transition into a fully-funded full-time phd student position at the end of the contract, subjected to performance review and university admissions requirement.

the lui group is interested in promoting environmental sustainability through chemical science. the current research interests of the group are1) conversion of waste biomass to fuel and carbon-based chemicals, 2) synthesis of sustainable carbon-based materials for manufacturing and medical purposes, and 3) novel methods to capture greenhouse gases from the atmosphere.

the research group is welcoming highly motivated individuals to join the team. candidates who have a strong passion for sustainability and are interested in learning a wide range of techniques are most suited to join the team. applicants should minimum have a bachelor degree (at the start of employment), preferably in chemistry or chemical engineering. candidates with strong experience in synthetic chemistry are highly desirable.

    我大致看了下老师发的文章,老师一直在做生物基化学品与燃料的合成转化,同时对老师的从生物质着手制备高附加值的产品这个点也很认同,我也制备过生物质多孔碳材料。但我对于新型温室气体的捕捉方法挺感兴趣,还是想确认下利用二氧化碳制备化学品,还是单纯的捕捉?
