Ph.D. Student Opening Starting Fall 2019 in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Arkansas

Prof. Han Hu, a new faculty joining the University of Arkansas from Purdue University, would like to hire a new Ph.D. student starting from Fall 2019. The student will have the exciting opportunity to conduct cutting-edge research on heat transfer, nanotechnology, and interface science. Research areas include but are not limited to boiling on micro-/nano-structured surfaces, thermomechanical and chemical robustness of structures, and machine-learning-aided multiscale modeling of phase change heat transfer.

•        Mechanical drawing (using SOLIDWORKS, AutoCAD, etc.)
•        Nanofabrication (photolithography, E-beam lithography, wet etching, dry etching, etc.)
•        High-speed imaging
•        Pool boiling and flow boiling
•        ab initio molecular dynamics simulations
•        Convolutional neural networks
•        Technical writing (technical reports, papers, etc.)
