他给的意见是:In page 27, (previous study showed that hippuric acid........metabolism), which previous study yours or other one which in this case will needs a reference.

如果没有理解错的话对方的意思是说引用的文献的观点需要附上参考文献～你不用解释你的或人家的，都需要附上参考文献
