Ph.D. Positions (全奖) for Nanomaterial Research

Sun Group - Ph.D. students - Photophysics of Nanomaterials

Sun’s group at Bowling Green State University (BGSU) is recruiting Ph.D. students to do research on the photophysics of colloidal nanomaterials. The students will be enrolled in the Ph. D. program at the Center for Photochemical Sciences at BGSU. They will work in Sun research group that fosters interdisciplinary research including diverse topics of physics, chemistry, and engineering of nanostructured materials including nanosheets, nanorods, and quantum dots (https://physics.bgsu.edu/~lsun/research.html).

The Ph.D. program at the Center for Photochemical Sciences at BGSU is unique in the USA. It is the only program in the nation that offers the Ph.D. degree in photochemical sciences. The Center has 18 full-time faculty members from chemistry, physics and biology departments. Their research covers broadly the areas including nanomaterials, single-molecule spectroscopy, and ultrafast laser spectroscopy (https://www.bgsu.edu/arts-and-sc ... cal-sciences.html).

After graduation, students with Ph.D. in photochemical sciences typically find jobs in companies of chemistry (e.g. P&G), renewable energy (e.g. First Solar), petroleum and pharmacy, or continue their research in national labs, universities or R&D divisions in big companies.

The Ph.D. students will be fully supported by teaching assistant positions or research assistant positions. The deadline for the application is February 15th (can be extended for good candidates).  
We also enroll students in the spring semester if you cannot meet the deadline.
