什么期刊，居然还有这种操作？

编辑一般也可以是相关领域的审稿人，所以不用担心。

9月6日投稿，9月18日with editor持续到现在，我催稿是上周五，11月2日。

with editor接近俩月才催的。

催稿的回复信是这么写的：
Your submission is within the scope of XXX, the EIC has assigned it to an editor. The editor who handles your paper likes to review the paper personally, which therefore takes time. I’ll remind the editor to speed up the review process.

我理解的就是编辑要自己审稿了

应该是这个刊物的编辑中的一个，一般期刊的编辑都是做科研的，所以不是给你回信的人审稿。
