PhD fellowship and CSC PhD positions (虏漏脢驴录掳CSC虏漏脢驴) on Neuronal Remodeling and Neurodegeneration in Singapore

PhD positions (虏漏脢驴录掳CSC虏漏脢驴) are available at the Dr. Yu Fengwei隆炉s group in Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory (TLL), Singapore. TLL is a world-class research institute which undertakes the cutting-edge research in molecular biology and genetics utilizing a broad range of model organisms.

Dr Yu is a Senior Principal Investigator at TLL and also the President of Society for Neuroscience Singapore Chapter (SfN Singapore). The Yu group is interested in understanding mechanisms of neuronal development, pruning and neuro-degenerative disease using a simple and powerful model organism, Drosophila (鹿没脫卢). Dr Yu has published important papers in Cell, Nature Neuroscience, Neuron, Developmental Cell, PLOS Biology, Nature Cell Biology, Development and Journal of Neuroscience.

The project will be to explore the mechanisms of neuronal pruning in Drosophila or develop a Drosophila model of some important movement disorders. The successful candidates are expected to be highly motivated and have strong curiosity in neuronal function and human disease modeling in Drosophila, to pursue an integrated approach involving advanced genetic, molecular, fly behavior and electrophysiology tools.
