Applications are sought from outstanding individuals for the opportunity of joining the School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering, The University of Manchester, UK, as a visiting PhD student or visiting scholar for twelve months.  

At UoM, the candidate will work on an internationally collaborative project aiming at developing computational models which are capable of predicting the flow field around and the propulsive and drag acting on a biomimetic swimmer at Reynolds number less than 1. Successful completion of the project will lead to publication of at least two international journal papers. The candidate is expected to have a strong background in mathematics and programming. Preference will be given to candidates who have a good track record of research publications appropriate at their level and are proficient in English. Research experience in computational fluid dynamics, especially with the application of slender body theory, is considered essential. 返回小木虫查看更多
