In this article, the authors designed a system to realize the generation of EPOV and EPVB based on the polarization states of the incident wave. The output phase can be well modulated by the Q-plate and the SLM. In general, there are no technical problems in this manuscript. However, I am a little worried about the novelty of this work.
It seems that this work is just an experimental demonstration of Equation (3) and the experimental results, unsurprisingly, agreed with the theoretical predictions. As the Q-plate and SLM are widely employed to modulate the phase response, at present I cannot see much improvement that this article can make to this research field both theoretically and technically. The authors may need to illustrate the advantages of their work further.
