This paper is well-written. It is technically strong.

I would like to see the error bars and standard deviations. What is the repeatability of the produced results.

I would also like to suggest the comparison with the water quality guidelines and specification of the leached components to determine whether it will be safe over a longer period of time.

Elemental mapping and point analysis will also assist in determining the fates of pollutants and further validate that leaching has taken
