Biophotonics Postdoc position at University of Houston to develop novel optical imaging systems for biomedical applications.

Requirements:
1. PhD Degree in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related fields.
2. Strong publication record.
3. Deep understanding of Physical optics and Fourier optics.
4. Proven skills in designing, component selection, and constructing optical imaging systems.
5. Working knowledge of ray tracing software, such as ZEMAX.
6. Proven skills in Labview programming for instrument controls.
7. Experimental skills in conducting optical measurements in biological tissue or tissue phantoms.
8. Reference letter from PhD advisor

Biosensing postdoc position jointly funded by University of Houston and MD Anderson Cancer Center for R&D cancer biomarkers detection
technology. The primary job duty will be performed at University of Houston.

Requirements:
1. Degree in Chemistry, Bio/Chemical Engineering or related fields.
2. Strong publication record.
3. Synthesis and functionalization of surfaces of gold nanoparticles or nanostructured substrates.
4. Deep understanding of surface plasmon resonance, localized surface plasmon resonance, and related optical spectroscopy techniques such as
SERS, LSPR, etc.
5. Technical skills in optical instrumentation, image and spectroscopic data collection, and interpretation.
6. Experimental skills in designing and conducting plasmonic biosensing of biomolecules, vesicles and cells.
7. Reference letter from PhD advisor
