PhD student positions available in drug discovery targeting cardiovascular diseases.

We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic young scientists to join our research team that identifies and pharmacologically characterizes bioactive natural products, mainly in the context of cardiovascular diseases and vascular biology.
The successful candidate holds a relevant degree in Molecular/Cellular Biology, Pharmacy, Biochemistry or a similar field.

Detailed information:
(1) Organisation: Department of Molecular Biology, Institute of Genetics and Animal Breeding of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
(2) Research field: Screen natural products targeting to treat cardiovascular diseases, and further dissect the molecular mechanisms of the action.
(3) Application deadline: June 30th, 2018.
(4) Position starts on:        Before August 1st, 2018.
(5) Maximum period of contract/stipend agreement:        Funding guaranteed until July 2020, possible extension.
(6) Location: Warsaw (the main working place) and Krakow in Poland;
           Vienna in Austria.
(7) Job status: Full-time.
(8) Research group: The research group of Assistant Prof. Dr. Dongdong Wang at the Department of Molecular Biology, Institute of Genetics and Animal Breeding of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

What do we ask?
(1) You have a master's degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, natural products (or related);
(2) Previous experience in standard cellular and molecular biological work (Western blot, RT-qPCR et al.) is desired;
(3) Ability to communicate fluently in English (Spoken and Written);
(4) Strong motivation, commitment and the ability to work reliably under pressure.
