Having a master degree is preferred but not required.

Details:
1 opening PhD position on materials and optoelectronic/photonic applications. The research will utilize novel materials today such as quantum dots, nanoplatelets or halide perovskites for developing high performance devices. The project will focus on light emitting devices such as LEDs or lasers. The student will be trained then working with the team on material characterizations, device physics and advanced device architecture. Combining both the electrical, electronic properties of novel materials and advanced photonic engineering approaches to deliver high performance light emitting devices. 1 opening PhD position on computational imaging, optical imaging through strongly scattering media. The research will focus on imaging of an object through strongly scattering media with or without characterizing the media. With characterizing media, we will utilize strongly scattering media as the lens in imaging system (including microscopy system). Without characterizing media, we basically can do imaging through various biological tissues non-invasively. This will potentially contribute significantly to biomedical imaging technology in future. The student will work on both algorithm development and optical experiments in the lab to realize our models and to optimize our algorithm for real applications. A candidate with strong background and/or interests in algorithm development, optical experiments is preferred. Please see our publications to understand our recent research activity in this field.
