最近老板让投一篇EST的viewpoint文章，经过历时5个月的反复修改，终于还是被老板给否定了。最后他自己改了一个最终版，直接让拿去翻译、润色、投稿。投稿后大概有半个月，就被主编给拒了，拒的很委婉，但是拒的让人有些摸不着头脑，求大虾解释一下。

I have screened your submission and regret to inform you that it cannot be considered further for publication. ES&T receives more submissions than we are able to publish. Therefore, we are very selective when evaluating Viewpoints. As a result, Viewpoint articles that do not meet our standards for fit with respect to the interests of our readers, quality of the presentation, or articulation of the scientific basis for the proffered point of view cannot be published.

As explained in our author guidelines, Viewpoint articles are short manuscripts in the style of an op-ed piece, and they provide authors with a venue to comment on an issue of pressing importance to our readership. They should be neither wholly political nor summary in nature. Indeed, now more than ever, we are focusing on Viewpoint articles that express an opinion of a clear scientific nature, based on rigorous scientific research in an environmental discipline.
