We are recruiting research scientists interested in joining our group at the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering, A*STAR, Singapore. This is in collaboration with the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Nanyang Technological University. The aim of our group is to integrate knowledge across various disciplines to advance science and create impactful technologies. Successful candidates will be involved in the comprehensive development of next-generation sodium- and magnesium-ion batteries – including materials synthesis, characterization and testing. Project details
1. Development of promising electrolytes for sodium- and magnesium-ion batteries
2. Development of high-performance sulfur cathodes to pair with sodium and magnesium anodes
3. Characterization of electrode materials in-situ/in-operando using SEM, TEM, XRD, XPS, XAS, FTIR, Raman spectroscopy, etc
4. Evaluation of the long-term electrochemical cycling performance of such batteries
Requirements
1. Experience in electrochemistry, e.g. batteries, supercapacitors, electrocatalysis
2. Experience in synthesizing solid electrolytes
3. Experience in synthesizing sulfur, carbon-based or inorganic materials
4. Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, including fluency in English
5. Ability to work well individually and in collaboration with others
