Two PhD opportunities are available in the Dou’s Lab in the Department of Biological Sciences at Clemson University.  Knowledge and research experiences in the following areas are preferred: molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, and immunology. Succesful applicants are expected to start the program in the fall of 2018. Applicant should include a personal statement, the latest curriculum vitae, the GRE and TOEFL score, a copy of transcripts, the summary of research experience, and names and contact information of three references. The Dou Lab focuses on understanding the pathogenesis of toxoplasmosis at molecular and cellular level. Toxoplasmosis is caused by an obligate intracellular protozoan, Toxoplasma gondii. Toxoplasma parasites are widely distributed on the earth and infect almost one-third of the humans. Toxoplasmosis can cause severe, even lethal situations in immunocompromised population.
