Interesting observations but based on the current literature, it is likely that the increased SAA in urticaria compared to healthy controls is an epiphenomenon rather than pathogenic. Like CPR, SAA appears to be an non-specific marker of systemic inflammation. The manuscript could be resubmitted as a concise report where the authors ought to further elaborate on the practical implications of their study findings.
