About the position: A postdoc position is open in the Laboratory for Biotronic
Engineering (https://biotronicengineering.com) in the Departments of Electrical &
Computer Engineering and Neuroscience at The Ohio State University,
Columbus, OH, USA. The research program is highly interdisciplinary, employing
approaches of stem cell, synthetic biology, tissue engineering, biomaterials and
microfabrication to engineer biological circuits, devices and systems for medical
applications. Graduating PhD candidates interested in this emerging area of
biocircuit engineering are encouraged to apply. A PhD degree in bioengineering,
cellular and molecular biology, synthetic biology, tissue engineering,
microfabrication, or closely related fields is required. Prior experience on small
animal surgeries and/or neuroelectrophysiology is preferred.

The position is available immediately. The initial appointment will be a two-year
period with an annual performance review at the end of the first year. Continuing
appointment beyond the two-year period is also possible based on available
funding and mutual agreement. Salary and compensation will be in line with
institutional standards and follow the NIH guidelines.
