Materials and Design experiences a very high level of submissions and the Editors undertake a thorough initial screening process for all papers before considering whether to send them out to review. This screening process focuses on making sure that manuscripts contain substantial advances beyond the state-of-the-art in terms of introduciing new ideas, approaches, insights, and methods.
