Abstract: Compared with lithium-ion batteries, sodium sodium-ion batteries has the resources was abundant, the price was low wait for an advantage, and was considered to be potential secondary battery of development new energy, realizing large-scale energy storage. Sodium-ion batteries in recent years become the research hot spot, the relevant report also increased year by year. This paper reviews development of the typical compounds in sodium-ion battery cathode material, such as transition metal oxides, polyanionic compounds; and the effective modification methods adopting by people such as nano-technology, coating, cladding, etc. Then, the research direction and prospects for development of sodium-ion batteries are forecasted. ©, 2015, Journal of Functional Materials.
