Centre for Micro-Photonics
Academic Level C: $109,004 - $125,605 plus 17% superannuation
Full-time, fixed-term 3 year role, based at the Hawthorn campus

Swinburne University of Technology has a long, proud history of educating and training students for over 100 years. The Centre for Micro-Photonics is an internationally leading centre in biophotonics and nanophotonics research. It provides a world-class laboratory for training Australian and international research students and will contribute to Swinburne’s 2020 aspirations to increase the University’s teaching and research activities in health and education.

An opportunity for a Senior Research Fellow has arisen and will contribute significantly to research, research training and research-driven teaching activities in the area of low dimensional materials for diverse applications in photonics, energy, biomedical and filtration within the Centre for Micro-Photonics (CMP). The position will contribute to developing the next generation of ultra-thin, ultra-light weight, flexible and multifunctional low-dimensional nanodevices integrated with the state-of-art nanophotonic research capability that has been advanced at Swinburne University of Technology. This successful candidate will provide a leadership role to build up the national and international reputation in the area of low-dimensional nanomaterials towards both fundamental science and advanced manufacturing.

Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:
An earned doctoral qualification in physics/chemistry/material science or relevant fields
Knowledge and research experience in laser physics, optoelectronics, photonic nanomaterial and nanodevice design and fabrication
Demonstrated expert knowledge in nanoscience and nanoengineering of two-dimensional materials, including graphene, and their functional devices in optoelectronics, filtration and energy storage et al applications
Outstanding publication track record in top national or international journals
