This is known as wall hugging ionization fronts and has been predicted by Zhiong and Kushner Plasma Sources Sci. Technol.21 (2012) 034001 (13pp) and shown experimentally by N. Puac, Appl. Phys. Lett. 101, 024103 (2012) (whare it is also shown that countinuity exists between the place of origin and extended glow due to gas flow and propagation f ionization. Authors should associate their observations with those presented here especially since many factors are overlapping except for the smaller breakdown voltage in case of rare gas buffer.
