The incumbent will support a research program funded by US Department of Energy, Office of Nuclear Energy. Specific responsibilities include: perform research on nanostructured steels; conduct different experiments including mechanical testing, thermal annealing, and microstructural characterization utilizing different techniques such as transmission electron microscopy and atom probe tomography; analyze experimental results; prepare presentations and write research articles and reports; interact with other researchers in the team; help with research proposals. The candidate should have strong background in materials science and engineering and have some experience in electron microscopy and mechanical behavior of materials. A strong publication record is required. Knowledge of irradiation effects in materials is a plus. The position is available immediately. Interested candidates should send a CV, a cover letter, a brief research statement and a list of three references to Dr. Haiming Wen at wenhaim@isu.edu.
