A PhD position is available IMMEDIATELY in Prof. Jinfeng Liu's group in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at the University of Alberta. The position is in the area of predictive control and estimation for both linear and nonlinear systems.

Applicants are expected to have a strong interest in process control. The successful candidate should have at least a bachelors degree in engineering, an excellent academic record as well as strong skills in programming (Matlab, Java etc). A Masters degree and background in automation, chemical engineering, electrical engineering (or other related engineering) are preferred.
