14th Annual IEEE Consumer Communications & Networking Conference (CCNC 2017): Workshop - Game Theory in Computer Communications
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Game theory has been successfully used in communication networks for a variety of purposes, such as congestion control, rate allocation, incentive analysis and profit optimization. Over the past decade, a series of changes have been witnessed. The changes pose new challenges for network management and control, for example: (i) the explosive growth of mobile data traffic and decentralized heterogeneous networks bring a challenge for meeting users’ QoS requirement especially during traffic peak time; (ii) the rise of Over the Top (OTT) applications and services imposes a challenge for recovering the cost of investment on network capacity; and (iii) the emergence of Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) alters market structure and intensifies competition. To adapt to the new challenges, intelligent transformation of game theory is therefore required. For further promoting the game theory related research activities, this workshop aims to bring together leading researchers in both academia and industry to share their views on modeling and analyzing networks with game-theoretic approaches.
