The reviewers have requested extensive and critical revisions to your submitted manuscript. In its current form, the paper is deemed “Rejected” for possible publication in Geotechnical Testing Journal. However, it has been determined that the technical contents of your manuscript may be suitable with additional work in accordance with the peer reviewers comments.  We do encourage you to return the paper as a resubmission and it will be reconsider for possible publication when it has been improved according to the peer reviewers comments.Your resubmitted manuscript will then be considered a “new submission” and will be sent for peer-review once again but not necessarily to the same peer reviewers. This will provide you the additional time necessary to improve the paper without the pressure of a rapid and more pressing turnaround. We welcome you to consider this available option.Therefore, you are invited to respond to the reviewers\' comments and resubmit your manuscript. Please note that resubmitting your manuscript does not guarantee eventual acceptance for publication.You will be unable to make your revisions on the originally submitted version of your manuscript.  Instead, revise your manuscript using a word processing program and save it on your computer. Because we are striving to facilitate timely publication of manuscripts submitted to the Geotechnical Testing Journal, your new manuscript should be resubmitted by 14-Nov-2016.  If you are unable to submit by this date please contact the Editorial Office for possible options.
